The English King dogs are called hybrid dogs as they are a product of cross breeding between two different pure breeds. The parent pure breeds for these dogs are Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and an English Toy Spaniel. These hybrids display characteristics and features of their parent breeds. The English King dogs are small in size standing around 10-13 inches and weighing nearly 10-18 pounds. These cute little dogs are very gentle, loving, playful, patient and eager to please. They are good with children and other pets in the family and get along well with all family members. They are very good family and companion dogs.
The colours for English King dogs are black and tan, chestnuts, white, white and red, white with black and tan markings or any mix of these colours.
They can have long and straight or slightly wavy coat like an English toy Spaniel.
They have all the traits and personality elements which make them excellent family and companion dogs. These little dogs are loyal, loving, affectionate, playful, happy and eager to please. They are generally obedient. They get along very well with all ages from children to seniors. Despite all this, like any other dog breed, they need to be trained and socialized so that these dogs do not develop Small Dog Syndrome where the dog behaves like a pack leader. Their social nature makes them average watchdog. They get along well with other dogs and pets in the family and are ideal for houses with more than one dog breed. They will socialize well with other dogs provided other dog is properly trained. These little hybrids make great family and lap dogs.
Their coat needs average brushing and occasional clipping and trimming.
They are easy to train due to their intelligence and should not create any problems during training.
The English King dogs are active dogs and most of their exercise needs are fulfilled with indoor play but like any other dog, they would require to go on walks to satisfy a dog's inherent need for walk.
