The Basschshund breed is the result of cross breeding between the Basset Hound and the Dachshund purebreds. They are of medium size and display characteristics of both of the parent breeds. They come in different colours such as white, grey, brown, black, sand or chestnuts. They have short hair and slight doggie odor that can be taken care of by regular bathing.

They have short coat that does not require lots of care.
PERSONALITY
They are energetic, active, gentle and loving and go along well with adults and children. They may show some stubbornness towards house breaking. The owner then should be more stubborn than the dog in order to make it obey him.
CARE
They may show stubborn behavior while housebreaking but should be dealt with patience, firmness and positive reinforcement.
TRAINING
Early training is recommended for these dogs.
ACTIVITY
This breed need minimal exercise and is normally lazy but very active indoors. They will do well in an apartment with their small size.
