The Papigriffon breed is a mix of the Brussels Griffon and the Papillon breeds. Having the large pointy ears of the Papillon breed, they look so much like a bunny. They are smart, charming and friendly to humans and other pets. Even as a small dog, it is possible for them to take over a pack but a good pack leader should be able to put them in their place making them balanced and happy dogs.
The Papigriffon usually comes in Black/Brown or Black/White colors.
Depending on what the Papigriffon acquired from their parents, their coat could either be long or short. The shorter coats are easier to groom.
The breed is naturally intelligent, friendly and charming. They make great companion dogs for humans as well as for other house pets. Prone to think that they are ruler of the home, proper training and exercise should be provided to make them balanced dogs. Otherwise, they could take over the ruling the home and be pack leaders which would lead to unwanted behaviors.
Grooming should be done occasionally for this breed to keep their hygiene in top shape. Regular brushing of their coat should also be kept to keep it healthy and shiny. Their parents should be looked up for more information on possible health issues.
The breed can be pretty difficult to housebreak but they are great watchdogs as they tend to bark a lot. They are very eager to please their owners making them easy to train. Even as a small dog, they shouldn't be allowed to think that they are pack leaders as this may lead to behavioral problems.
The Papigriffon needs regular exercise everyday to burn off excess energy. As a small built dog, they don't require too much and they can actually burn off their energy from running and walking around indoors or a small backyard. Nevertheless, they still need to go outdoors to satisfy their need to walk and sniff around.
