General
The American Lo-Sze Pugg (TM) is a small breed with very cute and adorable looks. The head is broad with a wide skull. The ears are drop while eyes are large and round and can be any colour. The nose has large nostrils. The muzzle is short as is the thick neck. It has a stocky and long body and tail is set high. The breed sports two types of coat, a short coat and a long coat that can be of any colour and pattern.
This breed is NOT recognized by AKC however the breed is recognized by ARF, APRI, DRA .
Color
The American Lo-Sze Pugg (TM) dogs come in different colours and patterns. Most common colours for this breed are fawn or black.
Coat
The breed displays two coat types. The preferred coat type is short, soft and smooth with or without undercoat. The second type of coat is long with feathering on tail, legs and toes.
Personality
Affectionate and lap-sized, this clownish breed is an adorable little dog that is very friendly and social in nature. It can get along with other pets and dogs in the family and makes good playmates with children. This breed is reasonably intelligent as well as a truly enchanting companion. The dog is affectionate, ready to please and sensitive. Always ready to please and amuse its owners and family members for as long as it takes. The dog is sensitive to its owner's mood. It does need sufficient amount of attention or it will become upset and may start to bark. The dog is alert to its surrounding but can not be used as watch dog due to its small size. It will bark to signal anything unusual around it. As with all dogs, this breed requires proper socialization with other dogs and pets in the family and with different people and places. A properly socialized American Lo-Sze Pugg makes an excellent family pet.
Care
The coat needs weekly brushing to keep it clean. The dog has a little nose and may become over-heated rather quickly.
Training
This dog is extremely trainable but does need a firm and consistent trainer. Positive training methods will yield maximum results quickly.
Activity
The dog needs nothing more than a daily walk as most of its exercise needs are filled indoor. However it does need to go to daily walk to fulfill its primal need to walk.
