General

The Amerindian Malamut is also known as The Kugsha Dog. It is a versatile dog that is bred for wide variety of qualities. Its ancestry goes back to wolves and Husky dog breed. This dog has been domesticated very recently. It is an extremely intelligent dog, having high levels of intelligence and I.Q.

Color

The Amerindian Malamut dogs are found in white, black & tan, tricolor, black & white, wolf gray and other colors and patterns.

Coat

The coat is suitable for very cold weather with dense fur all around the body.

Personality

The Amerindian Malamute is not an ordinary dog. It is extremely intelligent, hardy, and very skillful pack hunting dog. Learning curve for this breed starts earlier than most other breeds. The dog displays its high levels of intelligence in every thing it does. This is not a cuddly dog who would be happy to sit near its master all the time. It needs constant stimulation. Hardy as it is, the dog would need to be provided with lots of physical and mental stimulation to keep it busy and happy. This is not an ordinary dog and may not get along well with children or other pets in the family due to high prey instincts. It needs a firm and confident owner.

Care

The coat of this breed is designed to withstand extreme cold weather. As such, extra care is needed if the dog is in not so cold place as the body can get heated very quickly.

Training

Training is not a problem for this intelligent breed as long as the trainer is confident and true packleader.

Activity

The Amerindian Malamute dogs are used to working and they need both mental and physical activities to keep them happy. These dogs would need space to run and play freely as well as activities that help them keep their amazing energy level under control.
