General
The Anatolian Pyrenees is a designer dog cross between the Anatolian Shepherd and Great Pyrenees. This large dog requires to be socialized at early age. They are not best for inexperienced owners but can be great when given the right attention. They are a wonderful family dogs and great humane companions.
Color
The Anatolian Pyrenees usually comes in various colors or in any combinations of brown, white, black, cream, tan, red, reddish-brown or sable.
Coat
The coat of the Anatolian Pyrenees is thick, coarse, weather-resistant and double coated.
Personality
Anatolian Pyrenees are great for personal protection or guarding livestock. They are a large breed, yet very gentle and loving dogs. They are territorial and are commonly best at guarding. Being independent, they can be trusted whenever they are given task with or without their masters presence. They are great family dogs.
Care
This breed constantly sheds so they will need extensive amount of brushing and grooming maintenance. Bathing should be done when necessary. Trimming of coat can also be done depending upon the preference of their owners.
Training
The Anatolian Pyrenees is an intelligent breed but can be a problem when it comes to training them. Sometimes they show stubbornness and dominant behavior which is something that has to be taken cared of. Early socialization and obedience training is recommended. They will need a training with firm hand, gentle and knows training with positive reinforcement.
Activity
This breed may not so active indoors but will need to be taken to regular exercises. They love when they are given things to do as a working dog. Guarding livestock is the best they do. They are not suited for apartment life, thus they need a large space to roam around.
