The Aryan Molossus is a fighting dog that was used in fights with other dogs to settle the disputes between two tribes in Afghanistan. It is a massive dog breed with a height of 20 to 30 inches and weight over 200 pounds. The body is muscular, well-built and scruffy. The dog greatly varies in appearance. Loose skin hanging on the head and throat help protect the dog during fight. The eyes are dark-colored. The legs are powerful and very muscular. It has deep and muscular chest. The tail is held up high and curled over. The coat is short, dense and plush with a dense under coat.
This breed is NOT recognized by AKC.
The dog comes mostly in dark sable or sable-grey. Some dogs sport white markings on chest.

The Aryan Molossus is a large dog that has very aggressive and fierce attitude towards foreign dogs and people. It can only be directed by its owner who obviously has to be a strong and more dominant leader than this dog is. It has great protective nature and will defend its master and territory at all costs. The dog is docile and obedient to his master but will pose a threat to strangers. Since they were used in dog fights, this dog breed will not tolerate other dogs and specially another Aryan Molossus of same sex. This dog can be used as an excellent watch and guard dog as it will make sure that no stranger comes near its territory and owner. This breed may not be suitable as family pet but it is an excellent watch and guard dog.
The dog needs average grooming for its short coat. It is a moderate shedder and frequent brushing is required in that season to aid in shedding.
The Aryan Molossus dogs need training right from puppyhood. This includes obedience training and socialization with people and other dogs. This dominant breed will need a strong and experienced trainer. The trainer should use firm training methods but should not indulge in harsh methods.
The Aryan Molossus is high energy dog and owner needs to take it for long daily walks. It would be ideal for dog to have large open and secure space to run and play freely. When out on the road, the dog should always be leashed.
