The Australian Eskimo is the result of cross breed between the American Eskimo and the Australian Shepherd. They are medium sized dogs and are good family pets. They can be aggressive at times so its best to give them socialization and training as early as possible.
They are mostly seen in white colour with black spots or markings on their ears and body.
The Australian Eskimo has a water-resistant, harsh, slightly wavy or straight, medium in length, double coat.
The Australian Eskimo is very small and highly trainable breed. These breeds are affectionate, fun-loving, energetic, playful and friendly. Establishing good relationship with family members are possible for these breeds, including children and other pets especially those raised with them. They make a great family companion.
This breed sheds moderately. Giving them regular brushing and grooming to remove excessive hairs and keep their coat good looking. Bathing should be done when necessary using a mild soap to refrain skin irritations and allergies.
The Australian Eskimo breed has average intelligence and is highly trainable. Early socialization and training is advised for them. They will need a firm hand, gentle, consistent and fair.
These breeds are playful, active and very energetic. They will require regular daily exercises to burn off their energy and tire them out. Daily walks of 2-3 hours or running and lots of outdoor activities would be best for them. They can be made possible to live in an apartment, given that they have been given enough exercises and not to bore them.
