The Basset Retriever is the result of cross breed between the Basset Hound and the Golden Retriever purebreds.

This dog breed has long body with short legs. Ears are long and flappy.

This breed comes in golden and black combinations.

The coat is shiny, soft and red in colour.

Personality

The Basset Retriever is normally a calm and gentle dog. It loves both adults and children.

Care

Care should be taken for their diet as they may become fatty.

Training

This breed is intelligent and very easy to train. A trainer who has firm hand, gentle with fairness and consistency is recommended.

Activity

This breed will need extreme exercise daily to burn off their energy. They are playful, energetic and enthusiastic in doing routines and exercises. They can dwell in an apartment but given them access to a large yard is a bonus for them.
