The Berger Du Languedoc dogs were once very popular in France and were known by different names according to places such as Berger de Camargue , Berger de la Crau ( Rhone ) and Berger des C�vennes ( Cevennes ). The breed is now believed to be extinct or near extinct. These dogs were popularly used by shepherds of France to herd and drove sheep. The dog is relatively small as compared to other same category dogs. It has a height of 16-20 inches. The hair is short to moderately long, shaggy and comes in various shades from pale yellow to black and tan.
