Breed Details

General

The Bernedoodle is a cross between the Bernese Mountain dog and the Poodle purebreds. This is a hybrid dog breed and are also called designers' dogs. They are dominantly black in colour and can have wavy and silk to hard and coarse coat. They are medium in size.

Color

The Bernedoodle dogs come in dominantly black colour and sometimes in black and white, brown and black, tricolor and tri-brindle colours.

Coat

The coat for these dogs can be anything from curly and hard to wavy and silky. The curlier the coat, less the shedding.

Personality

They have a personality that makes them fun, goofy, loving, playful and very sociable. They are specially careful around children and make a great family dog.

Care

The amount of shedding in these dogs directly depend on their coat type. Curly coat type dogs shed from none to minimum. Regular brushing and clipping every two to three months is recommended for these dogs.

Training

They are very intelligent and learn fast but need to be trained to know right from wrong. They would need lots of human interaction to learn and remain happy.

Activity

Regular normal exercise and walking routines are enough to keep them happy.
