Breed Details

General

The Border Beagle is a mix between the Border Collie and the Beagle. These are called designer dogs. They are often shy and get wary to strangers but shower their love and energy when they get used to know them. They are medium size dogs with soft, shiny and short hair. These charming, affectionate and lovable dogs make great humane companions.

Color

They usually come with a black and white color combination and sometimes mixed with brown, tan, red-brown or golden colors.

Coat

They have a soft, shiny, short, double coat.

Personality

It is hard to explain what traits these dogs have as their parent breeds are quite opposite to each other. These dogs can inherit herding drive or they may not. They may have a long and silky coat or a short and coarse coat or something in between. It is difficult to predict what genes will take control in these hybrid dogs.

Care

This breed is an average shedder and will require regular brushing to remove excessive hair. Grooming is also best for maintenance of their coat. Bathe them using mild soap to refrain skin irritations and possible allergies.

Training

This breed is highly intelligent and easily trainable.

Activity

This breed is energetic, active, lively and playful. They can dwell in an apartment living given that they have the proper exercises they needed to burn off their energy.
