Breed Details

General

The Boston Huahua dog breed is a mix between the Boston Terrier and the Japanese Chin purebreds. They are small in size and inherit personality traits of both parent breeds. These dogs are loving but can become obsessed with one member of the family. The Chi huahua traits, if prevail, can make these hybrids unsuitable for families with small children as ill-tempered chihuahua dogs can attack if provoked.

On the other hand, if Boston Terrier traits prevail, they can be very good family dogs.

Color

They are found in many colours but most commonly black and white. Other colors include white and brown,

Coat

The coat of this breed is short, dense, water-resistant and silky.

Personality

Their personality depends on the genes they inherit from their parent breeds. If Boston Terrier genes are dominant, they will make good family dogs. If chihuahua genes are more dominant, they may not be suitable for families with small children and other pets as some ill-tempered chihuahua dogs can attack if provoked.

Care

They shed little to none. They will need minimal brushing and grooming of coat. Bathe only when necessary.

Training

This breed will need a firm hand with fairness and consistency on training. Early socialization and training is recommended.

Activity

This breed is best suited for dwelling in an apartment or condo living. They will need moderate daily exercises and a little room to roam will be a bonus for them.
