The Cairmal is a designer breed cross between the Cairn Terrier and Maltese. They are friendly, lively, affectionate, fun-loving and a happy dog. They can get along well with other dogs and even with children. They make a family pet and a charming humane companion.

Color

They come in various of combinations of black, white, light cream, gray, brindle, red and sand.

Coat

The coat of this breed can be medium to long in length. It is double layered, thick, coarse and hard to touch. Some may have straight hairs while others are curly and fuzzy which gives them a shaggy look.

Personality

The Cairmal is a charming, sweet, friendly breeds. They are faithful companion and loves to please their owners. They are happy when they get the attention they needed. They are lovable, loyal and devoted when it comes to family. They make a wonderful family dog.

Care

The Cairmal needs a little of grooming and brushing maintenance because of its medium length hair. They require weekly brushing and a monthly trim to prevent matting. Bathing should be done using a hypoallergenic or mild soap to refrain possible skin irritations and allergies.

Training

The Cairmal is a smart and intelligent breed. They are very easy to train but are sometimes stubborn which often hinders them to learn. They will need a trainer that is firm, fair, consistent and with positive reinforcement. Early socialization and obedience training at puppyhood is recommended.

Activity

These breeds are normally active indoors, energetic, lively and charming. They perfectly fit in an apartment dwelling life. Moderate exercise is needed for this breed. They would love frequent to have outdoor activities like family trips and trips on dog parks.
