Breed Details
General
The Cavador is a cross between a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a purebred Labrador Retriever. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
These dogs are small to medium in size with an average height of around 20 inches and weight anywhere 25-55 pounds. They are a mix of one small and one large dog so the result can be a medium or small size dog that will weigh according to its size.
The Cavador dogs are alert, cheerful, responsive and social dogs that are very good family pets.
Color
They are found in different colours like black, black and tan, brown, red and yellow or any mix of these colours.
Coat
These dogs can have a medium length silky coat of a Cavalier or they can have a short, dense and smooth, water-repellent coat of a Labrador.
Personality
The Cavadors are very playful and exceptionally friendly dogs. They are very loving and very patient dogs with all family members. These dogs make excellent family pets due to their gentle nature and even temperament. They are very patient and affectionate with children and make great playmates for them. These dogs are very lively and high energy. They also have a strong sense of smell that will make them follow an interesting scent to its origin. These dogs love human company and love to spend their time around their family. They are alert dogs and will make good watch dogs. Their adaptable nature makes them comfortable in any environment. The Cavadors are excellent dogs both as family and watch dogs.
Care
They should be leashed when going outside as they have an instinct to chase after small rodent like animals and will run after it. They also have strong scent sense and an instinct to find out its origin.
Training
These dogs are very intelligent and will be easy to train.
Activity
These high energy dogs need lots of physical activities. A daily walk with dog sports should do well to relieve their energy.
