Breed Details
General
The Cavottish are designers dogs or hybrid dogs that are a result of cross breeding between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Scottish Terrier. These dogs are have a barrel shaped body with short legs. They have lot of facial hair and their coat needs regular grooming.
Color
These hybrids are found in white, brown and white, black with or without white patches.
Coat
They may have a rough and harsh outer coat and a soft and dense inner coat. Their coat requires regular care as they are heavy shedders. Daily brushing and regular clipping is required.
Personality
These dogs have mix traits of loyalty, cheerfulness, socialization, courage, independence and intelligence. Since they are mix breed dogs, they may exhibit any one parents' traits or a mix of both parents' traits. The Cavalier Kings are very good family dogs but the Scottish Terriers are more rugged dog breeds. Their combination may produce a dog that is a good family pet or it may produce a dog that is not an ideal family pet specially for children as the Scottish Terriers are not known for their compatibility with children.
Care
Their coat requires regular brushing and frequent clipping.
Training
They may be a little stubborn towards training. They may require firm and consistent training sessions with owner establishing his authority as pack leader.
Activity
This breed is active indoors and can dwell to any sizes of homes, including an apartment. They will only need less amount exercises as they can easily tire out from indoor plays.
