Breed Details
General
The Chi-Chi dogs are a mix between the Chihuahua and the Chinese Crested purebreds. They are small size dogs with a rectangular body. Their head is a mix of Chihuahua and Chinese Crested. Their nose is the same colour as the body. They have round or almond shaped eyes. They have a long neck.
Color
They are found in many colours but mostly white is present either as prime colour or on some part of the body.
Coat
Their coat also comes in different varieties. It can be short, long, Powderpuff or hairless. In the hairless variety, either hair are minimal or not present at all. Hairless kind of Chi-Chis have hair on their head, legs and tail. Powderpuff type Chi-Chis have long coat.
Personality
The Chi-Chis may not be the most good looking and cutest dogs on earth but they have loving and friendly characteristics that make them good family dogs and loveable dog breeds. They are very alert, loyal, gentle, bold and intelligent dogs. They are fond of their family members but sometimes may be inclined more towards one or two people in the family. They are gentle and patient with children although children should be taught to be gentle specially with hairless type Chi-Chis.
Care
Hairless kind of hybrids need daily sunblock and lotion. Longhair kind needs daily brushing and smooth coated variety need to be washed with a rag. They are low shedders but should not be allowed in the room or on the furniture of allergic person.
Training
Early socialization and training from puppyhood is recommended for these dogs.
Activity
They are agile dogs who need regular walks and play opportunities indoors and outdoors.
