Breed Details

General

The Chimatian is a cross between a Chihuahua and a Dalmatian purebreds. They are called designers dogs or hybrid dogs. They are medium size dogs that exhibit features and characteristics of the parent breeds. They have face of Chihuahua and body of a Dalmatian with distinct dots. They have floppy ears and eyes that are either black or dark brown.

Color

They are found mostly in white, silver or black colours with dark spots on the body.

Coat

Their coat is short and shiny.

Personality

The parent breed of these hybrids are very loving, affectionate, loyal, intelligent and active. So the resulting dogs are no different. These Chimatians are great family pets and companion dogs. They love to play and go outside but also enjoy time spent indoors with the family. They are very good and gentle with children although may need some supervision when they are around other small pets in the family. They need early training to curb their 'Bossy' instincts. They are very loveable dogs.

Care

This breed will only require minimal brushing and grooming. Bathing should be done when necessary using a hypoallergenic or mild soap to prevent skin irritations and allergies.

Training

They are intelligent dogs and will learn quickly; however the Chi's willful instincts may show up occasionally resulting in the hybrid being a bit stubborn at times. The owner should then let them know that he is the boss and the pack leader.

Activity

They are very active dogs and would require lots of play and exercise sessions. Daily walk and fair time in the outdoor should be enough to keep them happy.
