Breed Details
General
The China Jack is a mix between a Chinese Crested and a Jack Russell Terrier purebreds. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
The China Jack dogs are small in size with an average size and weight of 12 inches and 12 pounds respectively. They are very active, intelligent and loyal dogs that bond themselves with their family. These dogs are very human loving.
Color
The China Jack dogs are found in different colours like white, black, red and other colours that are associated with their parent breeds.
Coat
Their coat can be a variety of kinds as both parent breeds exhibit more than one type of coats. The JRTs have smooth, or rough or a mix of both coats (called 'Broken coat') and the Chinese Crested have either powderpuff coat or hairless coat. So the resulting hybrids can be powder puff type or they can be completely hairless.
Personality
The China Jack dogs are companion dogs. They are very family oriented and bond themselves strongly with their family. These dogs are very loving and affectionate. They are generally good with other dogs and pets in the family. These dogs are high energy and will need lots of physical activities to be happy and content. They are social dogs and can adapt to different environment. Early age socialization is necessary to make these dogs familiar with outside world. They are good dogs to have as family pets.
Care
Their powderpuff or JRT type coat will need moderate grooming. Hairless type hybrids will need care for their skin like sunblock when going outside. Children should be taught not to rough handle these dogs as less hair on their body makes them vulnerable to injury.
Training
These dogs are somewhat stubborn and will need firm and consistent training.
Activity
The China Jack dogs have JRT stamina and energy which calls for lots of physical activities. Daily walk will not satisfy their need for exercise. They will need playing opportunity either in a fenced yard or in a dog park to relieve their excess energy.
