Breed Details
General
The Cockalier is a combination of two pure breed dogs, a Cocker Spaniel and a Cavaleir King Chrales Spaniel. The Cockalier dogs are called hybrid dogs because they are produced by the combination of two different purebreds. The hybrids have the features and personality traits of both the parent breeds. In the case of Cockalier, some of these dogs are similar in body structure to the Cavalier. Other dogs have the Cocker Spaniel body shape. They are small size dogs weighing around 20 to 30 pounds and standing around 12-15 inches.
Color
The Cockalier are found in many colours and markings. They are commonly seen in white fur with red or golden markings.
Coat
There are two types of coat varieties that are present in Cockalier dogs. One is curly coat type which resembles more to Cocker Spaniel and other is fine and soft type of coat of coat which is more like a Cavalier.
Personality
The Cockalier dogs are very loving, gentle and easy going dogs. They are intelligent and affectionate. They are eager to please their owners. These dogs are very loyal and get along very well with children. They are also good with other pets and dogs in the family. They are easy to housetrain and would learn quickly. They make very good family pet.
Care
The Cockalier dogs need regular brushing and grooming. They are moderate shedders.
Training
They are intelligent dogs and are easy to train.
Activity
They love to run and play so ample outdoor and indoor playing opportunities are necessary for these dogs.
