The Colonial Cocker Spaniel dogs are hybrids and are a mix between the Cocker Spaniel and the English Cocker Spaniel purebreds. They medium size dogs with very desirable qualities of an excellent family dog. These Colonial Cocker Spaniel dogs are great family dogs. They are alert and make good watch dogs. They are good with children and other dogs in the family.

Color

The Colonial Cocker Spaniel dogs are found in different colours. Common colours for these dogs are black, liver or sheds of red, black and tan, liver and tan and any mix of these colours with white background.

Coat

Coat is medium in length and it is silky, soft and wavy with a dense undercoat.

Personality

The Colonail Cocker Spaniel dogs are very loving dogs. They are very social and intelligent dogs. They are fairly active and very lively dogs who sometimes can be overly friendly. They need lots of time with their family. They are very cheerful and playful dogs. They are very good with all the ages and specially with older children. They are gentle and patient with small children. They are very good with other dogs and pets in the family. Overall they are an excellent choice for families who have time to enjoy with their pets.

They would need regular brushing and trimming of hair from their ears and eyes to avoid any infection.

These dogs are highly trainable dogs and would respond well to gentle and rewarding training sessions.

Activity

These dogs do need to go out for brisk walking daily. They would love to be in a house with a fence yard although they would also fit in an apartment if their daily exercise needs are taken care of.
