Breed Details
General
The Cotonese is a mix of a purebred Coton De Tulear and a purebred Maltese. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
These dogs are small in size with an average height and weight of 8-12 inches and 6-15 pounds respectively. They are cute little fluffy dogs that are very loving and affectionate.
Color
They are mostly found in white colour as both parent breeds also primarily exhibit white but they can also have biscuit or cream markings with white.
Coat
As both parent breeds are white in color, the Cotonese are also primarily found in white color though some Cotonese may show cream or biscuit color markings.
Personality
The Cotonese dogs are very loving and affectionate. They are very playful and amusing dogs to have and are very fond of children. They like to be with their family most of the time and make good companion dogs. Energetic and intelligent, these dogs are alert and attentive also and their wariness of strangers makes them very good watch dogs. These dogs are happy and enthusiastic dogs that need to be part of the family. They are very social and will get along well with other dogs and pets. They are excellent dogs to have as companion and family dogs.
Care
Their coat needs regular brushing and combing to keep it free of matt and debris.
Training
The Cotonese dogs are very trainable due to their intelligence and eager to please nature. They can even learn to perform some tricks.
Activity
They are small dogs with lots of energy, however, play will take care of most of their exercise needs. They will need to walk daily to be happy and satisfied. They can take part in dog games like agility and fly ball.
