Breed Details
General
The Crested Malt dogs are not purebred, rather they are a mix between a Chinese Crested and a Maltese purebreds. They are called hybrid dogs or designer dogs.
There are two types of Crested Malt dogs; one with hair on ears and head only like hairless Chinese Crested and the other with hair all over the body like a powder puff Chinese Crested. Either way, they are very cheerful, cuddly and classy dogs.
Color
They are available in many different colours and combination of colors. Common colours for these dogs can be pink, black, blue, copper or any combination of colours.
Coat
There are two types of Crested Malt dogs with respect to coat type. One is hairless type with hair on head and ears only; other with hair all over the body. Hairless type Crested Malt dogs only need sunscreen to protect their skin from sun rays. Powder puff type Crested Malt dogs would require daily brushing and care.
Personality
The Crested Malt dogs make very good companion and pet dogs. They are very social, lively and energetic. At the same time, they are eager to please their owners. They love to get attention. They are very good with children, other dogs and pets in the family provided they are trained from childhood. Their cheerful and devoted nature makes them a very good and loveable family and companion dogs.
Care
The hairless type Crested Malt would require only sunscreen to protect its skin from sun. The powder puff type Crested Malt would require regular grooming and brushing of the coat.
Training
They are intelligent dogs that are not difficult to train. They would respond best to gentle and affectionate training as they are sensitive dogs.
Activity
The Crested Malt dogs would require fair exercise and play time. They like to run in open yards and play with family or other dogs. Daily walk and regular playing sessions will keep them fit and happy.
