Personality
The parent breeds of these hybrids are not very suitable for families with small children. These hybrids are very loving and affectionate but they tend to stick to their owners. Also they may have hounding instincts of the Dachshunds that will make these dogs to chase other small pets and dogs. They would need supervision when around children. They will bond themselves with the owner more than other members of the family. They can be good dogs for families with older children or single owners.
Care
They may require normal grooming and regular brushing to keep their coat clean and free of debris.
