General
The Eskland dogs are a cross between an American Eskimo and a Shetland Sheepdog purebreds. They are referred to as hybrid dogs because they originate from two different pure breeds.
The Eskland dogs are small to medium in size. They are found in different colours. They are alert, intelligent, loyal and social dogs that are very suitable for families with older children.
Color
The Eskland dogs are found in a variety of colours like blue, brown, gray and white or a mix of these colours.
Coat
They can have a double coat like a Shetland Sheepdog. The outer coat is long and rough with water repellent fur and inner coat is soft to keep them from extreme weather.
Personality
The Eskland dogs are lively, intelligent, playful, willing to please and obey, alert and social dogs that make for very good family pets. These dogs are good with all ages though early socialization is needed with small children and other pets in the family. They may attach themselves to one person in the family but will behave well with rest of the family. They like to be around their family most of the time and enjoy being the center of attention. They are wary of strangers and will bark to alert the family of an approaching stranger. This quality makes them very good watchdogs. They are good dogs to have as family pets.

Their coat will require average to high maintenance.
Training
They are very intelligent dogs and can learn very fast. They would need gentle and rewarding training sessions. They are not difficult to train.
Activity
The Eskland dogs will require moderate level of exercises. They love to run and play with their owner. They would need daily walk and playing opportunities to keep themselves from boredom and consequently, undesirable behavior..
