General
The Golden Boxer is a cross between purebred Golden Retriever and purebred Boxer. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
They are medium size dogs that stand around 25 inches and weigh about 75 pounds. They are alert, intelligent, loyal and social dogs that are friendly, gentle and even tempered. They are loyal to their family but wary of strangers. They are found in different colours. They are good family dogs to have.
Color
The most common color combinations are gold, fawn and black.
Coat
The Golden Boxers can have a Boxer type coat that is short, shiny and smooth. They can have a Retriever coat that is double coat with top coat being water resistant and slightly wavy and softer under coat.
Personality
The Golden Boxers are gentle, friendly, affectionate and well-mannered with their owners and family. They are very playful and gentle with children and usually get along well with other dogs and pets in the family. They are wary of strangers. These dogs are very high energy and active dogs and would need lots of exercise and playing opportunities. They are very good family pets and companion dogs.
