General
The Golden Sammy is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Samoyed purebreds. These dogs are called hybrids or designer dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
These dogs are loyal, loving, affectionate, cheerful and friendly. They are medium in size, standing up to 24 inches and weighing around 70 pounds. They are found in different colours. Their coat is dense and water-repellent. They are good dogs to have as family pets.
Color
Common colours for these dogs are red, white and yellow or a mix of these colours.
Coat
They have a double coat which is rough and water-repellent on outside and soft and dense from inside.
Personality
The Golden Sammy dogs are very friendly, loving, gentle, well-mannered and affectionate. They are very good with all family members and specially children with whom they show very gentle and patient behavior. They are very good playmates for children. These dogs are cheerful and eager to please their owners. They thrive on human attention and are good companion dogs. They are very friendly and may not be good watch/guard dogs due to their very friendly nature. They may be friendly even with strangers but will bark to signal someone's arrival. They are very loving and friendly family pets.
Care
These dogs have a coat that may inhibit heat outlet in hot weather.
Training
They are intelligent and eager to please dogs. Training them in a firm and gentle way is very rewarding. They are fast learners.
Activity
They are fairly active dogs and would need reasonable amount of exercise. A daily long walk and play time should be enough to take care of their physical needs.
