General
The Golden Shepherd is a mix between a German Shepherd and a Golden Retriever purebreds. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different breeds.
They are active, alert and intelligent dogs that stand up to 24 inches and weigh around 88 pounds. These dogs are loyal and protective of their family and found in different colours. They are active dogs that can live in an apartment with proper exercising and playtime.
Color
Common coat colours for these dogs are black, blue, red, white and yellow and a mix of these colours.
Coat
These hybrids can have three types of coats. One is rough-coated, second is long rough-coated and third is long-haired coat. These coat types are found in German Shepherd. They can also sport a dense, rough and water-repellent straight-haired coat like a Golden Retriever.
Personality
The Golden Shepherd dogs are very loving, friendly, loyal and protective of their family. They are wary of strangers and make good watch/guard dogs. These dogs are very well-behaved with all family members. They are specially gentle and patient with children and make good playmates for them. These dogs can get along very well with other pets and dogs in the family with proper and early socialization. The Golden Shepherd dogs are alert and attentive to their surroundings and will signal of an approaching stranger. They are very intelligent dogs that are easy to train. These dogs like human companionship and do not like to be left alone for longer time periods. The Golden Shepherd dogs make excellent family and companion dogs as well as watch/guard dogs.
Care
Their coat sheds all year and they would need regular brushing and average grooming.

These are active dogs and would need plenty of exercise to relieve their energy.
