Breed Details
General
The Hava-Apso is a cross between a purebred Lhasa Apso and a purebred Havanese. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
The Hava-Apso dogs are small in size, standing not more than 11 inches and weighing around 10-14 pounds. These hybrids are found in different colours.
These dogs are loyal, loving, playful as well as alert to their surroundings. They are good family and companion dogs that are also good watchdogs.
Color
The Hava-Apso dogs are found in different colours. Some common colours for these dogs are black, blue, brown, gray, silver and white or a mix of these colours.
Coat
They have long and silky coat that can be clipped for easy maintenance. Their coat requires regular brushing at least twice a week to keep it clean and matt free.
Personality
The Hava-Apso dogs are cheerful, intelligent, social, loyal and responsive. They love to be around their family but do not require constant human company as they are self-entertaining dogs. These dogs are good with children and enjoy playing with them. They can get along well with other pets and dogs in the house as long as they are properly socialized. These dogs are alert to their surroundings and wary of strangers. They will alert the family of an approaching stranger. Generally gentle and affectionate, these dogs are fearless and aggressive when they detect any danger. The Hava-Apso dogs are eager to please and intelligent dogs and are easy to train. They make good family and watch dogs.
Care
Their coat, if left unclipped, requires regular brushing, atleast twice a day.
Training
Being intelligent, they are easy to train with firm but gentle and consistent training routines.
Activity
These dogs do not require lots of exercise. A daily walk should take care of their exercise needs.
