Breed Details

General

The Havallon is a mix of a Havanese and a Papillon purebreds. They are called hybrid dogs because they originate from two different pure breeds.

The Havallon is a small dog that stands no more than 12 inches and weighs around 10-17 pounds. These hybrids are social, intelligent, loyal, alert and responsive and make good companion and house pets. They are found in different colours.

Color

Most common colours for these dogs are black, black and tan, blue, brown, gray, red, silver and white or a mix of these colours.

Coat

Their coat is long and silky and would need regular brushing to keep it clean and free of matting.

Personality

The Havallon dogs are very loving, affectionate, loyal and alert dogs. They are good for families with small children and are very patient and gentle with them. They get along well with other dogs and pets in the family. These dogs are eager to please their owners and love to be with them. They can fit into an apartment life but would need to be trained NOT to bark on casual voices coming from other apartments. They are protective of their family. These dogs are not aggressive to strangers and will mix with them with proper introduction. They, however, will bark to alert the family of an approaching stranger. They will make good family and companion dogs.

Care

Their coat will need to be brushed regularly every other day to keep their coat clean and matt-free.

Training

These dogs are fairly intelligent and will not be hard to train although they may need firm and consistent training.

Activity

These dogs need average outdoor activities. A daily walk and indoor play is enough to fulfill their exercise needs.
