The Imo-Inu is a cross between a Siberian Husky and a Shiba Inu purebreds. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
These dogs are medium in size with a height of 20 inches and weight in the region of 20-40 pounds. The Imo-Inu dogs are independent, loyal and loving and with proper training and socialization, should make very good family pets.
The Imo-Inu dogs exhibit colours from their parent breeds. These colours include black and tan, gray and white.
They have a double coat that is rough and straight from outside and thick and soft from inside.
The Imo-Inu dogs are fastidious, intelligent, loving and loyal. They are good with children and other pets in the family but early socialization is very important. These dogs are intelligent, brave and courageous. They may not be as easy to train as some other dog breeds due to their independent nature but will show great improvement if trained with firm and consistent training routines. The Imo-Inu dogs are playful, active and lively. They have a tendency to chase small animals and should be off-leashed with care in dog parks. These dogs are best suited for families with out small children and other pets although proper and early puppyhood training should make them suitable for all families.
These dogs do not require lots of grooming of their coat. Brushing their coat every 2-3 days is enough to keep the coat clean.
Though fairly intelligent, these dogs may not be easy to train due to their independent nature and willful attitude. They will need a firm, patient and consistent trainer to train them with positive reinforcement techniques.
The Imo-Inu dogs would need fair amount of exercise. They will need to be taken for daily walks and play sessions.
