The Jacairn dog is a cross between a purebred Jack Russell Terrier and a purebred Cairn Terrier. These dogs are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different breeds.

The Jacairn is small size dogs that stand at a maximum height of 15 inches and have weight around 18 pounds. These designer dogs are charming, loving, affectionate and obedient but can be willful at times specially if any leniency on owner's part is shown.


The Jacairn dogs are found in a mix of their parent breed colours. Common colours for these dogs are black, tan, cream, red, sandy and white or a mix of these colours.


Their coat can be harsh, rough and weather-resistant coat like a Cairn Terrier or smooth and rough mixed coat like a Jack Russell Terrier.


The Jacairn dogs are loving, loyal and affectionate dog breed that love all family members. They are friendly and obedient dogs and do very well with considerate children. These dogs get along well with other dogs and pets in the family although they may show aggression towards unfamiliar dogs. They are good with guests. These dogs are family oriented, very devoted, loyal and protective of their family. They are very brave and courageous dogs that are fearless and will do their best to protect their family if a situation arise. The Jacairn dogs are high energy and active dogs that need both physical and mental stimulation and lots of exercise to be happy and calm. These dogs can live in small houses and apartments but would ideally need a large yard to play. These dogs are good watchdogs as well as family pets.


Their coat should be brushed regularly. These dogs would need to be bathed once a month.


These dogs are intelligent and eager to learn. Having one working parent breed, these dogs love activity but can become bored with similar training routines. They are easy to train if training is consistent and innovative.


The Jacairns are high-energy dogs that need lots of physical and mental stimulation. These dogs would need play time and activities to be happy besides daily walking. They are suitable for different dog sports like agility, ball fetching.
