Breed Details
General
The Jafox is a cross between a purebred Japanese Chin and a purebred Toy Fox Terrier. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
These dogs are small in size, standing up to 12 inches and weighing around 20 pounds or less. They are alert, cheerful, loyal and intelligent dogs that are suitable for all ages. Their body resembles that of a Terrier while they inherit most of Chin's and Terrier's characteristics.
Color
The Jafox dogs are found in black, black and tan and white colours or any mix of these colours.
Coat
They will have short to medium and fine coat.
Personality
The Jafox dogs are very loving and amusing. Bred to be companion, these dogs are great companions and love to spend their time with their family. They are also well-behaved with guests or strangers. They are good with children and other dogs and pets in the family. These dogs are intelligent and can learn to perform a few tricks specially if Chin part is more dominant in their personality. They can learn to respond to certain words and numbers. They are clean and active dogs and require daily walks to be happy and content. They are quiet dogs that do not bark unnecessarily. They will only bark to signal arrival of a stranger or to point out something unusual in the surroundings. These dogs are very good family and companion dogs as well as watch dogs.
Care
Their coat is very low maintenance. Brushing them once a week is sufficient to keep the coat clean. Bathe these dogs when necessary.
Training
They are intelligent dogs and can be trained easily with reward based training.
Activity
The Jafox dogs are active enough to need fair amount of exercise to keep themselves content and happy. A daily walk and playing opportunities are necessary for these dogs.
