General
The Jatese is a mix between a purebred Japanese Chin and a purebred Maltese. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
These dogs are small in size with a maximum height of 11 inches and weight in the region of 7 to 15 pounds. These dogs have facial features and characteristics of both parent breeds.
Color
The Jatese dogs are most commonly found in white colour with or without black or red patches but they can have any mix of white, black and tan colouring.
Coat
They have long, smooth and silky coat that needs daily brushing.
Personality
The Jatese dogs are very loving, affectionate and cuddly dogs that like to be with their owner most of the time. They are very family oriented and love to be around their family members. They love to be loved and try to please their owner. These eager to please dogs are easy to train due to their intelligence and eager to please behavior. They are very good with children but should be handled with care as they are fragile and delicate dogs. These dogs can get along well with other dogs and pets in the family. The Jatese dogs are alert and have a tendency to be noisy. They can make very good watch dogs but need to be trained not to bark unnecessarily. They are active dog breed that needs moderate amount of exercise to be happy. They are very playful and amusing dogs that make a great family and companion pet.
Care
These dogs are sensitive to cold weather and should not be left in cold temperatures. Their coat needs to be brushed regularly to keep it clean and tangle-free.
Training
These dogs are easy to train as they like to please their owners. All they need is gentle and reward-based training.
Activity
The Jatese dogs are active little dogs that need daily walks to be happy. Most of their exercise needs are taken care of by indoor play and they will need to be walked to satisfy their primal instinct to walk.
