The Jatzu is a cross between a purebred Japanese Chin and a purebred Shih Tzu. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
The Jatzu is a small dog with a maximum height of 11 inches and weight of 20 pounds. These dogs are cheerful, alert, playful and loyal. They have a proportioned body with dainty feet and floppy ears. They are mostly found in black and white or apricot and white colours although other colours are also possible.
The Jatzu dogs are mostly found in white with black markings and white with apricot mix. They are also seen in light brown colour.
Their coat is thick, fine, silky and fluffy.
The Jatzu dogs very affectionate, loving, friendly and social dogs that crave for human attention. They want to be center of attention and do well with all family members. These dogs are very good with small children and enjoy play with them. These hybrids get along very well with other dogs and pets in the family. They are eager to please their owners and like to be with them most of the time. They make very good companion dogs.
The Jatzu dogs are very alert and will make good watch dogs these dogs, though other wise quiet, will bark to signal arrival of a stranger. They are not wary of strangers and show social attitude towards them.
These dogs are active but need moderate level of exercise as indoor play will take care of their exercise needs. They will need a walk daily to keep fit and content.
Their coat requires moderate grooming and regular brushing.
They are intelligent enough to learn easily with gentle and reward based training. Some dogs may show stubborn behavior which can be dealt with firm and consistent training.
The Jatzu dogs are active but play will take care of their exercise needs but it is no substitute to a dog's primal need to walk. A daily walk is necessary to keep these dogs happy and fit.
