Breed Details


The Labradoodle is a cross between a purebred Labrador Retriever and a purebred Poodle. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.

These dogs are medium to large in size with a height in the range of 18 to 28 inches and weight in between 40 to 79 pounds. These hybrids are friendly, loving, cheerful and social. They are suitable for all members of the family from children to seniors. These hybrids are very intelligent and can learn and perform easy and more complex tricks. They are very active dogs that need lots of physical activity to stay in shape and relieve their excess energy. These dogs are alert and will make very good watch dogs. These dogs are very family oriented and do not like to be left alone for longer time periods.

They are excellent dogs to have as family pets.


The Labradoodles are found in different colours like black, black and tan, brown, red, white and yellow or any mix of these colours.


They can have a dense and curly, non-shedding coat of a Poodle or they can have short-haired, smooth coat of a Labrador.


The Labradoodles are very friendly and loving dogs. They are highly intelligent dogs that are very easy to train. These hybrids are high energy dogs and love to get involve in physically demanding activities like running and playing. They have an affinity with water and can take part in water sports. These dogs are very affectionate and gentle with children as well as all other family members. They enjoy their time with children. They are very social dogs who can get along well with other dogs and pets in the family although early socialization is necessary as Poodles are known to mark birds. They mix well with strangers and love to get attention.


Their coat is non to average shedding. These dogs will need average grooming and brushing with a bristle brush to keep the coat clean.


Eager to please and highly intelligent as well as obedient and eager to learn, these qualities are trade mark of these dogs and make them very easy to train. They can learn simple and more complex tricks.


These high energy dogs need lots of physical and mental stimulation to be happy and content. Running and other sports as well as daily long walks or jogging is necessary for these dogs to relieve their excess energy.
