Breed Details
General
The Lhatese is a result of cross breeding between a purebred Lhasa Apso and a purebred Maltese. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
The Lhatese dogs are small in size with a maximum height of 11 inches and weight around 18 pounds or less. They are very cute little dogs that are very kind and cuddly. They are alert and attentive and wary of strangers; making good watch dogs. These dogs are very active and need daily outing in the form of walk to be happy. They are intelligent dogs and loving dogs and get along well with all ages.
Color
The Lhatese dogs are found mostly in white colour with tan, brown or black colour patches any where on the body.
Coat
They have medium to long length coat that is soft and silky.
Personality
The Lhatese dogs are cuddly, kind, loving, gentle and eager to please. These dogs are made for companionship and they like to be with their family most of the time. They are extremely affectionate and devoted to their family and make excellent companion dogs. These dogs like to cuddle up to their owner and enjoy spending time with them. They like to get attention and want to be in the center of things. These dogs are very good and gentle with children but some of these dogs may be snappish so supervision is necessary. They are very playful with children and make good playmates. They are social dogs that get along well with other dogs and pets in the family. They do not want to be left alone for longer time periods. The Lhatese dogs are alert and wary of strangers and will signal alarm if they spot an approaching stranger. They are very good watch dogs. They need daily walk to stay fit. They are good apartment dogs that make great family pets.
Care
Their coat needs regular brushing and bathing every 4-6 weeks. The area under eyes should be kept clean to prevent infection.
Training
They are very obedient and docile dogs and together with their eager to please attitude, they are very easy dogs to train.
Activity
The Lhatese dogs will need daily walks and indoor play to feel happy and content.
