Breed Details

General

Malchi is a cross breed of Maltese and Chihuahua. The totality of this breed is obtainable by looking through the individual characteristics of its origin. However, it is important to note that a pure 50 percent breed of Maltese and Chihuahua may not always be the case. It is because of the common multi-generation crosses.

Color

The color of the Malchi resembles that of Maltese as it comes in either brown, creamy, white and sometimes a mix of them that extends to its tail like that of the chihuahua.

Coat

The differences of the two pure breeds, Maltese and Chihuahua make the coat not to be so predictable. Although most of the times, it mix up pretty well showing the nice long hair of the Maltese as its coat.

Personality

This breed is truly a family member in its ways. It shows exceptional love and affection towards the family by the protection it gives to them. It is done through their ability to bark, which they do most of the time to strangers. It is also desirable not only in that sense but also because of their intellect added by its strong conviction of pleasing its owner with its gentle yet sharp predisposition. Thus, Malchi is a dog that has a heart and mind.

Care

An owner must see to it that his dog stays inside the home more often as this is an indoor type, especially during winter. Its food may be given 2-3 times in a day, making sure that it has a lot of fiber to prevent any intestinal-related problems. Utmost care must also focus on hygiene because it usually has a close affinity to ear and eye infection.

Training

It is a breed that does not stress out a trainer because it is endowed with a notable intelligence and exceptional desire to commit and please others.

Activity

Malchi is a dog that understands and because of that they thrive well in an apartment way of living although they still require daily exercise just like most of the dogs. It may be a brisk walk everyday to exercise its fragile legs.
