General

Beagle and Maltese are the two combined pure breeds that make up the hybrid called Malteagle. The combination is though to produce a better dog because of the pooling of its genes. Conversely, it is expected to see a cute sturdy dog with silky hair.

Color

Nice arrangement of two or three colors is usually seen in a Malteagle. These are the neutral colors of brown, black and white similar to a Beagle.

Coat

Externally, the pattern of colors usually follows the Beagles' but the quality of the coat is more likely from the Maltese which is shiny and soft. Such amazing feature makes the dog cuddly.

Personality

Both the Beagle and the Maltese are known to be loving and intelligent in nature. Consequently, Malteagle is a pet that is suitable and a top choice for family. It enjoys mingling with others and playing around with the children. Maltese genes have an outgoing characteristics although the Beagles might have the tendency to show off their hunting instincts to non-canine pets. However, it may be corrected when they are exposed to these animals at a young age.

Care

Attending its long Maltese-like hair involves daily brushing or combing. This helps a lot to make it look good and clean. This is also true even to those that are having a short coat because of its thick quality that feels like a cotton.

Training

Positive reinforcement is helpful in teaching this pet, yet the trainers need to be firm and patient as they do this to acquire pleasing result.

Activity

Sociable as it is, its activity should be open and interactive in which it has a chance to get peoples' attention and be able to pour out its unused energy. Although, it does not need to be really complicated because a simple walk or run outdoors is already sufficient for them.
