The Miniature French Schnauzer is a cross between a purebred French Bulldog and a purebred Miniature Schnauzer. These resulting dogs are called hybrid or designer dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
The Miniature French Schnauzer is a small size dog with a an average height of 12-14 inches and weight around 15-30 pounds. These little dogs are loving, loyal and family oriented. They are protective of their family and alert to their surroundings. These dogs want to be with their family most of the time and are true very good companion dogs.
These dogs are found in different colors like black, brown, silver and white or any mix of these colors.
Their coat is fine and short and it can be wiry like a Schnauzer or smooth like a French Bulldog.
The Miniature French Schnauzer dogs are gentle and even-tempered. They are sweet and kind dogs that love children. They are playful and cheerful dogs that make good playmates for children and excellent companion dogs for the whole family. They are loving, loyal and protective of their family. They are docile and eager to please their owners and want to be with them most of the time. The Miniature French Schnauzer dogs are alert to their surroundings are suspicious of strangers. This makes them very good watch dogs. As a Frenchie is quiet breed while Schnauzer is noisy, the mix can be noisy to quiet. They however, will bark to signal arrival of a stranger. They need early socialization training around other dogs and specially cats as they may have inherent instincts to chase or even harm cats or birds. These dogs need moderate levels of exercise. They are easy to train and will make good family pets.
Care should be taken not to over exercise these dogs during hot or humid weather as they may have a compromised breathing system. Also, these dogs should not be left outside for the same reason.
They are very trainable dogs. The owner should not have any problems training these dogs as they are very obedient and listen to their owner. Their eager to please nature makes them easily trainable.
The Miniature French Schnauzers may not need lots of physical energy as one parent breed, the French Bulldog, just requires a walk daily while the other parent breed, the Schnauzer is very active and requires moderate amount of activity. So a daily walk is just perfect for these dogs.
