Breed Details
General
The Papatzu is a mixed breed dog and is a cross between a Papillon and a Shih Tzu. They are not very suitable as a guard dog because of their size. A very curious dog, they also have a very great personality and require lots of attention from their owners.
Color
The Papastzu comes in many colors, they maybe White/Brown or Black/White or combination of both.
Coat
They usually have long coats both parents of this breed have long coats.
Personality
They are very playful and, as with their Shih Tzu parents, can be high spirited. They are great as a family pet as they get along fine with children and other dogs and co-exist with other pets such as cats too. Because of their size they can be brought just about anywhere. With their parents both having a mindset of being a big dog, Papa Tzu's also have the same personality.
Care
They are almost always are very healthy dogs but needs controlled feeding because they tend to gain weight quickly. Because of their long coats they require daily grooming. It would be a good idea to have their coats trimmed once in a while too. Bathing should be done depending on the owners preference.
Training
Repetitive and obedience training is needed but they can always catch up quickly as they then to please their owners every time. Early training in repetitive manner will be very good for this hybrid.
Activity
Walks are needed for this dogs as with many types of dogs- short walks would do as they don't enjoy long hikes. With their size they can do well in small spaces and can get their much needed exercise within the confines of a small space. They can burn their pent up energy just by running around in a small room.
