Breed Details

General

The Raggle is a designer dog cross between the Rat Terrier and Beagle. These breeds are very smart but needs to be given proper training because they are stubborn and sometimes becomes aggressive when not socialized well. They are friendly, affectionate, lively, energetic and can be utilized as a watchdog despite their size. These breeds are a barker and can be able to alarm their family when they sense something mysterious around. They make a great family dog.

Color

They come in varieties of different colors and patterns. They are most common in white solid colors with patches of black, brown, tan, lemon or in any combinations.

Coat

The coat of these breed is thick, close-fitting, short, double coated.

Personality

The Raggle is a high energy breed with most of the characteristics of the Beagle. They love to escape yards and will follow their nose. They are sometimes stubborn and training can be a problem. Their prey drive is strong and they will chase birds and squirrels when off leash. They are affectionate and need owners that can devote time each day. Frequent daily exercises is also required.

Care

Raggles have a smooth coat and sheds very little to none which will only need minimal brushing or none at all. Occasional bathing is recommended to keep them clean and healthy.

Training

These breeds are highly intelligent breeds but will require intensive training as they as can be stubborn which hinders most of their training. It is recommended to give them socialization and obedience training as early as puppyhood.

Activity

Raggles do not do well in apartment dwelling life. They are high in energy and need a large yard and lots of outdoor activities. They require moderate daily exercises.
