General
The Scorkie makes a great family dog. They are affectionate, loving, charming and lively. These breeds are cross between the Scottish Terrier and Yorkshire Terrier. They can be aggressive at times, territorial and protective so its best to keep them socialized and attend obedience trainings at an early age.
Color
Scorkie's comes in varieties of colors but they mostly get their brindle, black-blue, black with white and dark grey colors from their Scottish terrier parent.
Coat
Scorkie's coat are silky, harsh, lustrous, thick and can be grown long depending upon the preference of the owner.
Personality
The Scorkie is a charming, lively, affectionate and fun to be with. They may sometimes exhibit a little aloofness to some family members especially to strangers. Also, they can be a show some aggressiveness when they feel like they are at a disadvantage. They can be territorial and protective at times so it would be advisable for them to start a socialization and training at an early age, or even the moment they got home.
Care
Scorkie's sheds moderately. They will need a lot of attention regarding their coat so regular brushing and grooming are required to maintain their good-looking coat. It would also be best to remove dead hair from time to time. Bathing should be done when necessary.
Training
These type of breeds learns quickly from the tasks and routines given on training. However, their being stubborn and cute can become a hindrance to their learning. They will need a consistent, firm, fair and extended patience with lots of praise during the exercises.
Activity
The Scorkie will need daily brisk walks or going off-leash dog park trips. They do good in an apartments and not to spacey houses. They may sometimes be active and lively indoors and will not require much of a yard, nevertheless giving them access to outdoor activities is a bonus to them.
