General

Silky Cotons are designer dogs cross between the Silky terrier and Coton de tulear. They are affectionate, loving and charming. They loves to always get the attention of their owners. They would lie down and loves belly rubs. They are great humane companion and family dog.

Color

Silky Cotons comes in combinations of brown, black, tan, red-brown and sometimes appear to be visible in tri-colors.

Coat

Silky Cotons can either have a cottony, fluffy coat like their coton de tulear parent or be in thin, silky coat like their silky terrier parent. Their hair can be grown long up to 6 inches in length to look like more of their silky parent.

Personality

Silky Cotons are affectionate, charming, lively and very playful. They have a very friendly and pleasing personality that everybody will love. They establish good relationships with other dogs and to the family, especially to children. They are alert and can alarm the family right away whenever they felt something strange on the surroundings. They can be made into a mini watchdog with their size.

Care

Silky Cotons are low shedder to none. They will do perfectly good in apartments with their size. They will need a regular brushing to maintain their attractive and lovely coat. Bathing should be done when necessary using a mild soap to refrain damage of the hair.

Training

The Silky Cotons are highly intelligent dogs with high trainability level. They are so easy to train with their eagerness to work with humans and to be pleased. They can become very attached to their home and humans. They will need a firm hand with consistency and fairness to be able to make them follow routines.

Activity

Silky Cotons will need an average exercise so regular brisk walks, outdoor trips and running will do good for them. They are very lively and playful and loves when they have plenty of toys to play with.
