Srpski Trobojni Gonic

The Srpski Trobojni Gonic is translated to Serbian Tricolor Hound. It is a medium size scenthound originating in Serbia. Formerly known as Yugoslavian Tricolor Hound, the dog was once considered a variation of Serbian Hound but was recognized as separate breed by FCI in 1961. It is a popular dog in its country of origin, Serbia, where it is used to hunt wild boar, feral pigs and other large game as well as on hares and foxes.

This ancient breed is not only valued for its exceptional hunting abilities but also adored for its loyalty and loving nature. This medium size dog, which stands between 18-22 inches and weighs about 44-55 lbs, comes with a slightly rounded skull and well developed muzzle with well developed black nose. The medium size, almond shaped eyes are preferred to be as dark in colour as possible. Medium length, high set, pendulous ears hang close to the cheek. The neck is strong and slightly arched. The rectangular body has a straight top line and well-muscled, strong back. The short, abundant coat has shining hair and comes in deep red base color, black mantle and white star on head and blaze.

This breed is NOT recognized by AKC however it is recognized by FCI.
