General

Wel-Chons are cross between Bichon Frise and Welsh Terrier. Wel-Chons are common in a coat of a Bichon Frise with a body figure and face of a Welsh Terrier. These dogs are a barker. They can be a great watchdog with their size and alertness.

Color

Wel-Chon mostly comes dominant in white color with shades of brown to tan or reddish brown.

Coat

The coat of Wel-Chons can come in variations depending on the genetic compositions of each parent. They can either inherit the wire-haired, thick and very hard coat of the Welsh parent or the lustrous, fluffy, soft and thick hair of the Bichon Frise parent, or may even be in a combination of the two.

Personality

Wel-Chons are charming, affectionate, loving, lively and very playful. They are friendly to people and even to children and other dogs. These breeds are known to be made an exceptional family companion. Indeed, with their lovable and pleasing personality they make perfect as a humane companion.

Care

Wel-Chons are non-shedder dogs however, they may need regular grooming maintenance to keep their coat good-looking. Brushing should also be done a few times in a week to refrain matting hair. Bathing should be done when necessary. If preferred by the owner, they can be trimmed according to the what parent they want their dog to look a like.

Training

The Wel-Chons are typically smart breeds. They can be trained easily however, their charming and adorable personality usually gets in the way of their training. They will need a firm hand with consistency and fairness. Repetition and lots of patience on training are advised.

Activity

Wel-Chons are known to be very playful, lively and energetic. They may need average exercises to burn off their energies. These breeds will do well in an apartment size but needs to be taken outdoors regularly. They can be destructive and noisy when they get bored.
