General

The Yorkie Russell is a friendly, active breed. They are loving and affectionate in their own ways and they love when they get the attention they wanted. They are designer dogs cross between the Yorkshire Terrier and Jack Russell Terrier. They make a great lap dog with their size and loves being cuddled.

Color

Yorkie Russells come in varieties of colors depending on what they get from their parent. Some appears to be mostly in white with markings of tan, black or brown, like their Jack Russell parent. Some may be in black and tan from early stage, gradually attaining their dark steel-blue and tan coloration as they mature, like their Yorkie parent. Nevertheless, they may come in combinations of the two.

Coat

Yorkie Russells have a smooth, silky and straight coat.

Personality

Yorkie Russells have a friendly personality that everybody loves. They are so loving, and even affectionate with the family and even with the children. They are fearless and gets along with people and dogs with their own size.

Care

Yorkie Russells sheds low to none. However, these breeds usually has a long, silky coat which needs regular brushing and grooming to maintain its good-looking appearance and prevent matting. Bathing should be done when necessary. Their teeth should be brushed and cleaned regularly to refrain having tooth decay.

Training

The Yorkie Russells are averagely intelligent breeds. They have the tendency of showing their dominance especially with bigger dogs. With this, they need training to solve their being dominant and be a happy household dog. They may require a training with firmness, fairness, consistentcy plus a lot of patience and repetition. Early socialization and training would be best for them.

Activity

Yorkie Russells loves to run around in a yard and enjoys outdoor activities. They are very lively, energetic and playful. They require average exercises to burn off their energy. They are great household dogs and could live in an apartment with their size. When they get upset, they will let you know and go to their bed to escape the attention.
