Blood in the Front of the Eye in Dogs

Hyphema is the name given to the condition of blood in the anterior chamber of the eye. Hyphema is a not a disease but an indication of an underlying disease. The condition could be accompanied with corneal edema or corneal lesions and elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). Severe and untreated condition can lead to blindness. Hyphema can also be indicative of various ocular (eye) and systemic deficiencies, some of which may be life threatening. Therefore, its diagnosis and proper treatment is very important.
