Astrocytoma is a tumor of the brain affecting the glial cells. Glial Cells surround the nerve cells (neurons) giving them support and electrically insulating them. It is the most common primary tumor of the brain of dogs. However, sometimes it can also be found in the spinal cord.
The symptoms depend on the tumor's location and degree of lack of cell differentiation (graded I–IV, from best to worst prognosis). Some common symptoms include
Seizures
Behavioral changes
Disorientation
Clumsy movements
Cranial nerve abnormalities
Paralysis
