Calcium Deposits in the Urinary Tract in Dogs

Urolithiasis is the presence of stones or calcium deposits in the urinary tract. The development of these stones is more common in older animals. In most cases the stones can be removed safely and the prognosis is good.

Trouble urinating is the most common symptom. An enlarged belly or an inflammation of the area surrounding the urinary region may be seen. If the stones are large, they can sometimes be felt through the skin.
